Device-led Dysphagia Rehabilitation

We provide access to advanced therapies designed to strengthen the muscles involved in swallowing and breathing. These programs are guided by your Speech Pathologist and tailored to your individual needs.

Therapies include:

  • Tongue-o-meter and IOPI devices – biofeedback devices that offer exercises to measure and build tongue strength and endurance, supporting safer and more efficient swallowing
  • BiSSKapp therapy – app-based tongue training with real-time feedback to support consistent practice and progress monitoring
  • Respiratory Muscle Strength Training (RMST) – using devices such as the EMST150, EMST75, and The Breather to improve airway protection, cough strength, and breath support for swallowing and speech.

Voice Therapy

Individualised programs for dysphonia, including exercises to improve breath support, clarity, and endurance. Can include multidisciplinary review with ENT surgeons using videostroboscopy.

Upper and Middle Airway Therapy (including Chronic Cough)

Personalised, and evidence based therapy to manage airway sensitivity, ILO/EILO, irritable larynx, or persistent cough. Improves airway control, breathing, and confidence in daily activities.

Speech Therapy

Evidence-based programs such as LSVT LOUD®, SPEAK OUT!®, and PhoRTE to improve speech clarity, articulation, and intelligibility for neurological or muscular conditions.

Language Therapy

Evidence-based therapy to improve comprehension, expression, and functional communication after stroke, brain injury, or other neurological conditions. Therapy may include high-intensity, intensive practice approaches designed to maximise recovery and functional use of language in everyday life.

Laryngectomy Support

Pre- and post-operative education, rehabilitation, and voice restoration (electrolarynx, tracheoesophageal speech) for patients undergoing laryngectomy. Therapy is personalised to help you regain confidence and communication control.

Tracheostomy Support
Specialised therapy to support breathing, safe swallowing, speech, and secretion management for patients with a tracheostomy. Focused on daily functioning and confidence.
